Early Years Foundation Stage

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework, which supports the healthy development of children from 3 months to 5 years old. This framework outlines how and what your child will be learning, focusing on developing essential skills, acquiring new knowledge, and demonstrating their understanding through seven key areas of learning and development.

Our dedicated teachers and staff ensure that all activities are tailored to your child’s unique needs and interests. While similar to a curriculum in primary and secondary schools, the EYFS is specifically designed to be flexible and suitable for young children, allowing our team to nurture your child’s individual growth and curiosity.

Through the EYFS curriculum, children learn by playing, exploring, being active, and engaging in creative and critical thinking.

Children will mostly develop the 3 prime areas first:

1

Communication & Language
  • Listening & Attention
  • Understanding
  • Speaking

2

Physical Development
  • Moving & Handling
  • Health & Self-care

3

Personal, Social & Emotional Development
  • Making Relationships
  • Self confidence & awareness

As the children grow, the prime areas will help them to develop skills in these 4 specific areas:

4

Literacy
  • Reading
  • Writing

5

Mathematics
  • Numbers
  • Shapes, space & measures

6

Understanding the World
  • People & communities
  • The world
  • Technology

7

Expressive Arts & Design
  • Exploring with materials & media
  • Being imaginative
